- Get the death certificate and any will ready. Add the names and addresses of the family.
- Compare the court's forms with our forms guide so you know what the court offers.
- File through eFileGA, which the court says is open all day and night. Or take the papers to the first floor of the Justice Center on Langley Drive.
- Pay the $202 filing fee, plus any extras the clerk names. Publication is paid on top.
- Come to the clinic on a first or third Thursday if you want a lawyer to look things over.
- Take the oath before the judge or clerk. Notices run in the Gwinnett Daily Post.
These steps give the general path. They do not say which petition fits your family.
