Step by step
Six steps to start an estate in Forsyth County
- Keep the death certificate and any will close. Make a list of the family, with their addresses.
- Read through the court's forms and our forms guide.
- File online through eFileGA, mail the papers, or bring them to the Courthouse Annex in Cumming.
- Pay the filing fee. The state calculator shows $205, before publication.
- Take the oath in front of the judge or a clerk. Ask the office how to set that up.
- Ask the clerk which newspaper runs the notice, then place it.
These steps give the general path. They do not say which petition fits your family.
